BOIL DRY:  
The appliance is fitted with a “boil dry protection  
system”, which will switch the appliance off if the  
water level is too low.  
When “boil dry” occurs, switch the appliance off  
and remove the plug from the wall socket and  
allow the appliance to cool down.  
Fill the urn with water to the desired level. (Mini-  
mum capacity is 1L).  
Do not fill the inner tank with water above the  
“FULLlevel indicator.  
Insert the plug into the wall socket and switch the  
appliance on. The heating pilot light will illumi-  
nate and the water will begin to boil.  
CLEANING AND MAINTENANCE:  
Regular care and maintenance will ensure long and  
trouble free operation. In order to ensure proper  
cleaning and to avoid causing damage to the ap-  
pliance the instructions below should be followed.  
Always keep the appliance clean.  
This appliance should be cleaned at the end of  
each day using warm hot soapy water, then rinse  
thoroughly with clean water. Ensure that the ap-  
pliance is switched off and has cooled down be-  
fore any cleaning task is undertaken.  
Using and a damp soft cloth wipe the inside of  
the urn so that no residue builds up. Any build-  
up of scale deposits can usually be removed by  
placing an appropriate solution of vinegar and  
water in the inner tank and allowing it to soak  
overnight without turning the appliance on. This  
should then be followed by the usual cleaning  
with warm soapy water followed by rinsing thor-  
oughly with clean water.  
Wipe down the remainder of the appliance with a  
soft damp cloth, taking care to avoid water enter-  
ing any part of the appliance.
